Parallel Effort

Progress doesn’t always feel like movement.

Some days you show up, lift the same weight, run the same distance, repeat the same motions — standing beside the version of yourself you’re trying to become, but not there yet.

Close enough to see the difference.
Not close enough to feel it.

Muscle grows quietly. Strength builds invisibly. The change you want runs parallel to your effort, moving at its own pace.

Nothing dramatic happens.

Just repetition.
Breath.
Time.

And one day, without noticing when it happened, the distance between who you are and who you were chasing disappears.

Not because you forced it —
but because you kept showing up beside it long enough.
